Shadow boy

In the night a boy stands between shadows that no one can see
From miles one can smell his fear
He lives in a city of blinding lights haunted by obscurity
The people express happiness they don’t feel and hold weights they can’t bear
The boy didn’t share the opinions and the images his people did see
Sure, he’d share some amusement but at the end of it he’ll quickly disappear
Little one, why the odd behavior? What are you trying to be?
Why the sad face? Why instead of the smile you choose the tear?
Well I like to be myself and myself believes differently
And the shadows I’m in let me live comfortably
I don’t hide in shadows but shadows hide me
It lets my inquisitive mind sleep soundly
I like these shadows to be surrounding me
I pray these shadows will always be near
Cause if my sins were a fire it’d vaporize the seas
And my vision of the light is not yet clear
An old man passed by and whispered into the boy’s ear
I once lived in these shadows boy, they’ll only make you older than me..believe me

I was young too in a time
My body aged sooner than the others
My physical and spiritual didn’t rightly rhythm
So I got white hair before I reached adulthood’s borders
I travelled centuries of knowledge and wisdom with my mind
I felt eternity once in my spirit when I subdued body desires
Boy, some lights might blind your eyes but shadows darken your soul
It doesn’t cover you, it absorbs your blood
Drop by drop, it makes you feel sleepy while you’re being drained
It may sound good now but when you age it’s no fun at all
But, who am I to judge the ways of the Creator
Master of lights and shadows
Who am I but a wanderer in this life that I can’t all fathom?
Who am I but a tiny dot between billions of galaxies and clusters?
My advice for you is to look for something worth living for
And be like a bee son, take your drink from flowers and leave out the thorns
