Drowning Jonah

My mission was clear
The orders were simple

But the burden wasn’t easy to bear
At least that’s what I thought

Instead of taking my mission’s route
I ventured into another way with a heart beating fear

I walked down a tunnel; or so it seemed
I found myself wrapped up by dark waves of a raging sea

My lungs grasped for air
That’s getting each day scarce

I sank in an ocean of sharks and whales
No one of them tried to approach the human who failed

I thought after a long time of drowning I’ll soon hit the bottom
But my body kept sinking in this bottomless dark ocean
